For serious anglers who spend a significant amount of time offshore, choosing the right boat is never simply about horsepower or overall length.
How freely you can move around the deck, whether there is enough space for fishing gear and equipment, how responsive and maneuverable the boat feels, and how comfortable and practical it is during long hours at sea often matter far more when choosing a fishing boat.
At the 2026 Taiwan Fishing Tackle Show, Dazhou Enterprise will showcase the YANMAR VF23AZ Fishing Cruiser as a fully operational boat on display.
As a boatbuilder specializing in fishing cruisers, Dazhou Enterprise is bringing the VF23AZ directly to the exhibition floor so that anglers can experience the boat beyond photographs and brochures. Visitors will have the opportunity to take a close look at the hull, deck layout, and helm station, and consider their next fishing boat from the perspective of real-world use.
The VF23AZ is a Fishing Cruiser developed by YANMAR for fishing enthusiasts. Measuring 7.50 meters in length and 2.24 meters in beam, with a rated capacity of seven people, the boat offers a spacious and open fishing area within a relatively compact hull.
The boat features a walk-around deck layout, together with a side door at the helm and a rotating captain's seat, allowing greater flexibility when moving around the boat and handling fishing equipment.
In actual fishing situations, when fish activity, current direction, or the position of the fishing rig changes, anglers can move quickly around the boat according to the conditions, making better use of different areas of the deck.
YANMAR also places particular emphasis on the VF23AZ's spacious deck configuration, allowing navigation and fishing activities to work more naturally alongside each other. Rather than simply serving as transportation to the fishing grounds, the boat becomes an integral part of the fishing experience.
The VF23AZ is powered by a YANMAR 4JH3-HTZY1 diesel engine, delivering a maximum output of 66.2 kW, equivalent to approximately 90 PS, and is equipped with a 100-liter fuel tank.
Unlike many boat models primarily designed for leisure cruising, the VF23AZ places greater emphasis on the practical requirements of fishing—from its propulsion and handling to its overall deck configuration.
The YANMAR Multi-Drive comes standard with a trolling device, providing precise low-speed control for drift fishing. For anglers who care about one key question—how to keep the boat positioned where they want to fish—the VF23AZ can also be equipped with a trolling system and YANMAR's Spanker Positioning System, helping control the boat's speed, heading, and positioning during fishing operations.
These features reflect YANMAR's long-standing Japanese approach to fishing-boat design, developed around the practical needs of anglers spending extended periods on the water.
Taiwan's offshore fishing market has continued to develop in recent years. For many anglers who regularly charter or rent boats, increasing frequency on the water often leads to a new question.
Instead of asking, "Where should I go fishing this time?", they begin to ask:
"If I were to own my own boat one day, what would I actually need?"
What length is right for the number of people I usually take offshore? How should the deck be configured for my preferred fishing style? What are the differences between diesel and gasoline propulsion? And what should I consider when it comes to berthing, maintenance, and ongoing boat management?
These questions are difficult to answer from a specification sheet alone.
That is why Dazhou Enterprise has chosen to bring the VF23AZ to the exhibition as a fully displayed boat. Whether visitors are considering purchasing a boat, preparing to move from chartering to boat ownership, or simply interested in understanding the differences between professional fishing boats, the exhibition provides an opportunity to explore the VF23AZ up close—from its overall dimensions and deck space to its practical configuration.
With long-standing experience in boatbuilding, sales, and marine-related services, Dazhou Enterprise is using this exhibition to place greater focus on fishing boats and the real-world needs of anglers.
From entry-level boat models and different ways of using a boat to ongoing management and life on the water, Dazhou Enterprise hopes to communicate with anglers in a more practical and approachable way—bringing what can often seem like a complicated boat-buying decision back to three simple questions:
How do you normally go out to sea?
Who do you go with?
And how do you want to fish?
The YANMAR VF23AZ will be on display as a fully operational boat at the Dazhou Enterprise booth throughout the exhibition.
Anglers, boating enthusiasts, and prospective boat buyers are welcome to visit the booth, step closer to the boat, and discover the Japanese fishing-boat design philosophy behind the YANMAR VF23AZ.
